Beginning

The story of Kings & Daughters Brewery started to take root fifteen years ago when Kyle began a love affair with the craft of brewing beer.  At 21, Kyle’s path to one day open his own brewery was illuminated.

Learning

He spent his early twenties learning everything he could about homebrewing and the brewing industry before entering the craft brewing industry with a job at Full Sail Brewing Co. in Hood River, Oregon. From there he moved to Double Mountain Brewery where he worked his way up to the position of head brewer. During his time at Double Mountain Kyle completed a Masters in Brewing Science and Engineering from Heriot Watt University, we  got married and welcomed two daughters to our  growing family.

After graduating, Kyle was ready for growth in his career that would push him from his comfort zone, confront him with new challenges, and introduce him to a wider community of craft brewers.

GROWING

As a family with two young daughters and a son on the way, we were also ready for a new chapter and a new adventure. With that in mind, we reached out beyond the place we knew and found ourselves saying, “YES”, to life abroad. In the summer of 2016, we packed eight suitcases and moved our family to Finchamstead, England, where Kyle took the helm at Siren Craft Brew.

During our three years abroad,  Kyle grew professionally with his brewing techniques after participating in lots of creative collaborations. Our family grew as well and we knew it was time to head home and open the brewery we had been dreaming of. We left England, spent five months traveling, and returned home to start Kings & Daughters Brewery.

BLOOMING

We had every intention of starting Kings & Daughters right away, but the pandemic put those intentions on hold. We used all of 2020 to reframe, plan, project for our business, and we also welcomed a third daughter to our family.

In August of 2021 we introduced our first beer, a Soft IPA, into the PNW market. We’re growing slowly, with intention, and we are so thrilled our first brews have been so well received by the considerate and discerning craft beer consumers of the PNW. Right now, it’s just us, a husband and wife team doing everything together — with the support of our four kids, of course.
